Finding a decent bite to eat in a small town, although seemingly simple, can actually be quite a challenge. You’d think having fewer options would make the process simple, but that’s not always the case.

North Dakota’s oil capital, Tioga, is sprinkled with dives, drive-ins, and diners, but they’re not all winners. Luckily for you, we’re locals, and we know all the best spots.

Whether you’re passing through Tioga for business or visiting for leisure, these five restaurants aren’t likely to disappoint.

If you need a little help finding your way, check out the interactive map at the end of the post.

42 Grill

With a claim-to-fame of having the best burger in the Bakken, 42 Grill is an old Tioga standby. A large grill and bar menu gives diners plenty of options – burgers, sandwiches, pizza, wraps, and more.

WildcatZ Grill

Beer aficionados will find a real treat in WildcatZ Grill. In a relatively small town with few restaurant options (and even less variety in libations), WildcatZ is an oasis of delicious craft beers and ciders. There’s a full bar for those with a taste for something stronger too.
